The final pieces for the exhibition are being chosen together with plans for delivery and finally siting.

Current numbers of sculptors stands at 96 but some new exhibitors are being found from visiting some other exhibitions including Fresh Air.

From over 600 pieces we look as if we’ll be setting up 2 fabulous exhibitions in the 2 glass houses of about 250 pieces in 2 different styles, one more formal and the second based on a square 360 degree walk round and through less formal in pieces and display. Catering arrangements have been finalised so there’ll be scones and teas available to satisfy our visitors as well as the full eclectic diet of sculpture on show.

First press and magazine publicity has appeared along with posters and postcards in every Tourist Centre and public library. A second wave of publicity is about to hit the streets this week end whilst work with other media is on-going. The BBC is interested in featuring the exhibition on their website including doing some live radio broadcasts from the site once the exhibition starts.

We’re contacting ITV for coverage and organising a media day and visit just before the exhibition opens. Several demonstrations have now been arranged including forging, wood carving, plaster work and traditional mud men, more to follow!

Preparation work on the outside site in the Sanctuary has begun with new pathways and reseeding work to make sure we’re giving the best possible back drop to the work.

Work to design the Exhibition Guide has begun along with printing of banners and signage plans.
